Convection in a mushy layer along a vertical heated wall

چکیده
Motivated by the mushy zones of sea ice, volcanoes, and icy moons outer solar system, we perform a theoretical numerical study boundary-layer convection along vertical heated wall in bounded ideal region. The mush is comprised porous reactive binary alloy with mixture saline liquid solid matrix, studied near-eutectic approximation. Here demonstrate existence four regions their behavior asymptotically. Starting from bottom wall, are (i) an isotropic corner region; (ii) buoyancy dominated boundary layer; (iii) connection (iv) horizontal layer at top strong gradients pressure buoyancy. Scalings simulations consistent predictions. Close to similar rising buoyant plume abruptly stopped top, leading increased temperature upper region, whose impact discussed as efficient melting mechanism.
